BASICS Scotland are pleased to announce the imminent launch of the BASICS Responder app which will be made available as a closed release to BASICS Scotland Responders and BASICS Scotland members who are registered Doctors, Nurses or Paramedics.
The development of the app has been possible with funding provided by The Big Lottery Fund – Awards For All.
The app has been developed with the intention to provide our responders and medical professionals with that "angel on the shoulder" when dealing with an emergency medical situation and to provide crucial, up to date life saving information no matter where they are. The app has been designed to operate mainly without the need of a data signal with all the essential information contained on the device it is installed on so no matter where the medical emergency is, the responder can access the information without having to worry if they have a signal or not.
The app has been developed for IOS and Android platforms with the aim to release both versions at the same time. Both versions are currently in Beta testing with final changes being made.
Features available on the release of the app include:
Access to Clinical Governance Guidelines
Sandpiper Bag Equipment Checklist (allowing you to enter use by dates and receive reminders before items are out of date)
Step by Step Clinical Decision Making Algorithm
Patient Report Form completion
Direct access to the BASICS Scotland Video Vault which contains instructional videos developed and produced by BASICS Scotland (this section does require a data connection due to the file size of the videos)
Once Beta testing is complete and a release date finalised, we will be contacting BASICS Scotland members and informing them how to apply for access to the app.
In the meantime below are some screen shots of the the app to whet your appetite.
