New additions to the BASICS Scotland team

As some of you may have seen, we recently advertised for an Assistant Clinical Director. Interviews were held on Tuesday (12th July 2016) and we are pleased to announce that we have managed to get 2 for the Price of 1! (Pun intended).

Two of the candidates interviewed showed real passion about BASICS Scotland and we feel they have skills that will complement each other. Coming from both primary and secondary care backgrounds they will be perfect ambassadors for BASICS Scotland. Therefore after approval from the BASICS Scotland board, the post hast been offered to both of them on a job share basis.

So without any further delay let us introduce you to our new Assistant Clinical Directors who are very familiar faces within BASICS Scotland.

Dr Ben Price

Ben is a GP in Perthshire having previously worked in remote and rural general practice in Speyside and NHS Highland. He has particular interests in promoting rural GP and the role of the generalist as well as pre-hospital urgent and emergency care. He is a BASICS responder and regularly teaches with BASICS Scotland on adult and paediatric courses. When not working he is usually to be found enjoying the outdoors; running, cycling or just exploring and seeing his family grow up.

Dr Richard Price

Richard is a Consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive Care Medicine at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Paisley and with the  Emergency Medical Retrieval Service. He teaches on several BASICS courses and leads the Clinical Governance working group.

We would like to extend our congratulations to both of them and look forward to working with them in their new roles very shortly!
