Dr John Ferris attended a 58 year old jogger who had collapsed in St. Andrews yesterday. The patient was in cardiac arrest and receiving CPR from friends. By using his defibrillator supplied by The Sandpiper Trust, Dr Ferris was able to defibrillate the patient's heart back into a normal rhythm. On reviewing the patient today at Ninewells hospital, he was sitting up and having a cup of tea and rather thankful that BASICS Scotland and Sandpiper funding exists.
He passes his thanks to anyone involved in our organisation.
