Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Refresher

Course Summary

It is recommended that pre-hospital emergency care skills are refreshed on a regular basis. The course therefore updates candidates on much of the content of the PHEC courses. This one day course devotes the majority of its time to simulation based teaching to ensure that skills are maintained and updated to incorporate the latest developments in pre-hospital care.

The course is open to doctors, nurses and paramedics who have participated in a BASICS IMC or PHEC course in the past.

As with the new PHEC and previous IMC courses the course is non-examined but individualised feedback is given on a formative basis using the new BIGCAT tool (see fact sheet).

Currently all courses booked until April 2017 are two and a half day courses per demand. From April 2017 we plan to incorporate Refresher courses allowing a one day refresher for those who simply wish to update knowledge and skills and do not need to attend a full course.
