This course is for those who demonstrate instructor potential for BASICS courses and is run under licence from ALSG.
The GIC aims to teach the principles of adult learning. The 3 day course includes key note sessions led by an ALSG / RC(UK) approved Educator with demonstrations and practice sessions in all six modalities of teaching and assessment required for life support type training:
- lecture and presentation skills
- skills teaching and assessment
- teaching simulations
- facilitating small groups
- simulation assessment
- giving feedback

The course teaching hours for this course are 21 hours.
Practitioners working in remote and rural Scotland are eligible to have their course fees subsidised with the remainder payable by participants. Delegate fees are variable depending on whether courses are residential or non-residential.
