Synopsis:
This presentation will be a short synopsis of the importance of hypothermia in trauma patients, including how to recognise, manage and prevent it. The presentation will include discussions about the impact of hypothermia on trauma patients, including discussions regarding the trauma triad of death and damage control resuscitation
Bio:
Zoë is a UK Emergency Medicine, PHEM and Retrieval Consultant working in Glasgow and for the Emergency Medicine Retrieval Service.
She has international pre-hospital and retrieval experience, having previously worked for East Anglian Air Ambulance, Magpas, MedSTAR (Adelaide Australia), and has completed a pre-hospital and retrieval travel fellowship in Norway. She has also worked at the Johannesburg Hospital Trauma Unit.
She is the Scottish Representative and FIMC examiner for the Faculty of Pre-hospital Care, inaddition to being a BASICS Scotland Instructor.
